Album review: Complot! - Victimes Innocentes (d'une furie meurtrière) (2022)

Complot! - Victimes Innocentes (d'une furie meurtrière)
Canada
Anti-human Productions
At first glance, one might dismiss Complot! as just another war metal act, although it quickly becomes clear that these Quebecers mean serious business. "Victimes Innocentes (d'une furie meurtrière)" is their debut album and is as much a black metal album as it is a war metal album. A repugnant atmosphere permeates this recording, giving it a ritualistic feel. The production is also seemingly raw, but not so much that you can't discern individual parts, but more in the sense that they knew what they were doing. The performance is very consistent as each instrument is played with razor sharp precision. One particularly pleasing feature is the mix of pulverizing bass riffs that give the whole thing a rather menacing quality. The vocals are downright evil, while the riffs give the impression of being whipped with chains over and over again. Certainly one of the best albums of the year as far as this style is concerned. Recommended for fans of Naked Whipper, Black Witchery and Blasphemy.

EP review: Shizoparanoic Platoon – Warfare: Mass Annihilation (2019)

Shizoparanoic Platoon – Warfare: Mass Annihilation

Greece

Askio Productions

The latest EP from these Greek tyrants, entitled “Warfare: Mass Annihilation,” mercilessly bludgeons the listener’s brain into submission from the get-go. The album contains six tracks and clocks in at thirteen minutes, launching a barrage of straight-ahead aural violence characterized by ugly riffs, sickened growls, and cavernous drums. The hellish cacophony is supported by a raw production that fits their style perfectly.

Fans of bestial black/death metal will absolutely love this release. The EP is short, but makes up for it with pure visceral brutality. On top of that, there is no filler, so to speak. There’s a lot of replay value, thanks to the punishing riffs and well-arranged songs.

Prior to this release, the band released a compilation album, which I haven't heard, but after being blown away by this EP, I definitely plan on checking it out. Every track on this EP is great, especially the cover of Blasphemy's Demoniac, which I highly recommend hearing. Schizoparanoic Platoon's name pretty much tells you what to expect, so be prepared to have your brains reduced to a pulp with this disc. A highly recommended War Metal act from Greece! (HT)

Interview: Wolflust (2022)

The following interview was done with War Metal titans WOLFLUST.

Hails! Thanks for agreeing to do this interview, man. Can you tell us a little bit about how Wolflust emerged and your influences?

R: Greetings! WOLFLUST was formed by Cernunnos Legion - War proclamations, distortions blastbass and sulfuric vomits, Trojillo - Artillery, ammunition and warhammer of doom, with the aim of producing a chaotic WAR DEATHBLACK METAL, rescuing the old spirit of the 80s/90s, inspired by the gods: SARCOPHAGE(old), BLASPHEMY, HELLHAMMER, SODOM(old), ANGELCORPSE, CONQUEROR, MUTILATOR(old), and others.

Tell us about your Satanic Megatons EP and the overall reaction from underground maniacs.

R: When we recorded our ep we had no pretensions, our intention was just to record all our hate and anger in the form of music, we were really impressed with the acceptance of the material in the Underground environment, in all this ep has so far had 7 different versions, 2 on tape(Davao Hellsbangers/Philippines and Southwindland recs/Brazil), 2 on cd(hammer of damnation recs/Brazil and Anti-human prods./Canada), Box cd(Anti-human prods./Canada) on LP(9 Brazilian labels and Raise the dead Recs/England). Until today we receive many messages from maniacs from all over the world commenting on this material.

The sound on that EP is absolutely merciless. Can we expect more of the same with the next attack?

R: Our intention is for each upcoming material to sound as brutal and wild as possible, in WOLFLUST you will never find new trends or fads, only the most profane and brutal WARDEATHBLACKMETAL like the old days! Stand by because the worst is yet to come!

Your band’s name derives from an Angelcorpse song, so it would be reasonable to assume they had a big influence on you? What do you think about an Angelcorpse reunion?

Yes, Cernunnos and I are fans of ANGELCORPSE, for us it is a direct inspiration and influence. Unfortunately the shows of this tour that would take place in Brazil were cancelled due to the pathetic Brazilian producer who screwed everything up.

Who did the artwork for the Satanic Megatons EP? It's pretty sick!

The cover was made by a renowned Brazilian artist called Marcos Miller, he has done several covers for other bands like Exterminate, Mental Horror, Cauterization, and many others. And we will continue to work with him to make the arts for the next materials.

You covered Bathory’s classic “Sacrifice”. How much of an influence is Quorthorn on your band and what do you think of their later Viking era?

Yes it was an immense honor for us to be able to record our version of the song “sacrifice”, as Bathory is a huge influence not only for us but also for thousands of other bands around the world. Personally, I prefer Bathory's early stage more, but all of his works are magnificent!

What can you tell us about the scene there in your city, and which active bands do you think are worth checking out from Brazil?

I live in a city in the interior of the state of São Paulo, there is no scene in my city and no bands. Brazil has always been a barn of great bands that served as inspiration for the rest of the world, currently there are several bands doing excellent works such as: Necrosound, Açoite, Necrogosto, Luvart, Havok666, Kanvass, Ceremony, Antichrist Hooligans, Sade, Negro Bode Terrorist, Barbatos, Spiritual Hate, Diabolism, and many others.

Tell us a bit about your lyrics and what inspires them.

Our lyrics deal with themes of wars, death, desecration, and against all religions that manipulate and imprison human beings. We follow as inspiration the themes addressed in albums from the early 80s/90s such as show no mercy, endless pain, seven churches, morbid visions, INRI, infernal overkill, in the sign of evil, fallen angel of doom, among others..

For some people, metal is just a phase, but for others it's a lifetime pursuit. What does it mean to be a diehard metal heathen? Also, how do you feel about people formerly into black/death converting to Christianity?

Well, I've been in this for over 30 years, so I don't think it's a phase hahaha, really I have Metal for me as a lifestyle, there isn't a day that I don't listen to Metal in my life. Unfortunately our country is an extremely Christian country, and many get into this shit looking for something illusory or that will bring them salvation or a better life in some fantasy place. Metal has never had anything to do with religion, Metal has always been anti-Christian and always will be, so we will always execrate the pathetic people and bands that call themselves White Metal.

What’s currently on your playlist?

I listen to a lot, I'm a real maniac who looks for new bands all the time, I can tell you the bands I'm listening to this week: KANVASS, ARCHGOAT, GBK, IMPURITY, GOATSMEGMA, BLASPHEMY, ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE, CHRIST DENIED, MALIGNANCY, THORYBOS , between others.

It goes without saying that Brazil has an endless supply of great bands. What do you think makes people from there want to play such violent and intense music?

Certainly the reason Brazilian bands create songs with so much hate, anger and violence, is the portrait of our lives and realities, we are a third world country, with a totally fucked up economy, where the vast majority work themselves to death, we pay the highest taxes on the planet and we have no return, the vast majority do not have access to good education, medical care or security, violence in large centers is gigantic, that is, the brutal and violent sound is just a reflection of our lives.

What can you tell us about your other band Industrial Noise? It seems the band has been around for a time!

Yes, I created INDUSTRIAL NOISE in 1993 as a totally noise project, then in 1998 it became a band with rehearsals and shows, we released dozens of materials such as demo-tapes, cds, 7eps, etc.. We are currently stopped since the beginning of the pandemic. But a year ago I formed another band with another member of INDUSTRIAL NOISE, it's called ACUSTIC NEUROMA, the sound is a mix of death metal and grind, in the old style like bands like BLOOD, REPULSION, F.O.G., DEPRESSION.

Thanks for your time, Mauro! The Satanic Megatons EP rips. I hope to hear more of the same with the next assault. The last words are yours.

Thank you very much for the interview and space given to WOLFLUST! Very soon we will have several releases coming out like a new EP and other split's 7'EPs, and also other news, keep in touch! Keep up the war against white-shit shit and fake metal! Fuck Peace! Praise war!!!

Interview: Putrid (2022)

The following interview was conducted with Peruvian blasphemers PUTRID. The band plays evil and menacing Black/Death/Thrash in the style of ANGELCORPSE, MORBID ANGEL, SARCOFAGO, etc. Both Spanish and English answers were provided.

Bestial greetings, M.B.! How did Putrid form and what are your influences musically? Were you in any bands prior to the band’s formation?

English:

Hi Jim, thank you very much for supporting us through your zine; we really appreciate that brother!

My influences could be said to be of two types. Maybe one is about issues that generate a lot of anger in me and others about thoughts about someone in particular. We have a song called “Hatred” (which will come out in our Split with Morbidity) and basically I did it against the archetype of the asshole who understands Metal in general as a way to get high and be a shitty person.

If you refer to music, my influences are very basic, Slayer, Angel Corpse Morbid Angel are the three basic ones and from which I can say that I am a fan of these three bands.

Now, I listen to a lot of hardcore, since before I listened to death metal I was really into hardcore and with bands like Exploited, Cro-Mags, Misfits, etc. You know when I was a teenager I got a tape called PUNK AND DISORDELY. That tape was great bro. Great compilation!

Yes, before Putrid he played in a band called Flagelum Dei, the drummer of that band plays in Putrid now

In your own words, how would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard it before?

English:

It is something difficult to put into words, because it is not something that is planned. Perhaps it could indicate that some records could give an idea of what we do with our music. In that sense, if I had to put some characteristics of it, I could say that we are: "chaotic and violent", simple, chaotic and violent music without pretensions of anything else.

It is more honest to do it from these three foundations, at least for me it has always been that way; and I think I've found a bit of a balance between message and music since that. I don't think that as long as Putrid is active, we will change the way we do things.

“Antichrist Above” from 2020 was a real beast. Could you tell us something about the recording process and the vision you had while creating it?

English:

As in all Putrid albums, recording was an exercise in empathy, stress and evidence of errors when playing the instruments. Hahaha. When we record we always end up very worn out to the point of not seeing each other for two or three weeks afterwards; until a concert or something like that appears.

If you want to know something about what happened? Well, what I remember the most is that we almost ran out of a rehearsal room. I rent a house that was uninhabited and my father manages it, for which I offered him a monthly payment to give it to me and we have our recording studio there as well. Hate Supremacy Studios is called. Well, they almost kicked us out of that place, because our way of recording guitars is with very high volumes. And so it was, I had to redo the rental contract and reinforce the audio outputs so that they do not become too heavy when recording. Shit, but the record that came out was very satisfying.

The artwork is purely blasphemous and obscene! What inspired such crude art and who is the artist?

Spanish:

Solo haremos fotos.

English:

It was a last-minute exit since the person who was going to do the cover for us told us that in the end he didn't have time and we already had the album recorded, but we hadn't worked on photos or cover; we just decided to do that last and for that reason we also left the cover for last.

The idea, I think, is not very new in itself, but a very good photo was achieved. It looks great on vinyl. What we have decided is no longer to make drawings in our albums. We will only take photos.

How did you manage to link a deal with Poland’s Godz of War Productions? I personally think they are a killer label and ideal for an underground band with such a sick sound like Putrid.

English:

When we almost have the album advanced, what we do is record a promo to start sending it to different labels and see the interest that can be generated with it. In "Antichrist Above" we had already fully advanced songs and with that we recorded this demo. There were three labels that were interested in us, but I think that the best option was always Godz Ov War Prod. Since we saw that they had many bands in our same style. We are very satisfied with them and in fact we will continue working on this label.

I was wondering if you could comment on the title of your last album, “Antichrist Above” - Is Jehovah the real devil, and the devil below the savour?

English:

I think it's more sarcastic than it sounds. It's like a big joke that both Christians and Satanists have fallen for years and years. On the one hand it is the fear of falling into an unjustified darkness and basically created by the fear of pain and on the other hand it is the need to feed an ego in deficiencies of greater life motivations. It is that, because if you analyse the history of both forms of subjugation (Christianity / Satanism) everything is revealed as a story of mutual accusations that have not built absolutely anything and people, today, or see it as a form of marketing emotional or as a way of negatively educating the supposed enemies that these people create in their heads.

"Antichrist Above" for me, since I wrote it, was a great way to tell everyone that they are part of a big circus, monkeys and clowns looking for a form of attention. My ideals are worth more than that.

What are some killer bands from Peru that every maniac reading this should check out?

The ones you already know everywhere brother: Goat Semen, Mortem, Hadez, etc

What’s the last album you bought?

English:

Believe it or not, Death's Scream Bloody Gore; I mean, I had it on CD many years ago, but I just got it on vinyl.

I have also bought never mind The Bollocks by Sex Pistols, the same case as Death

10 albums you can’t live without.

Mmm

Slayer- Reing in Blood, Morbid Angel - Covenant, AngelCorpse -Exterminate, Darkthrone Transilvanian Hunger, cualquier disco de Arditi, Exploitedn - Beat the Bastards, Misfist - Earth ad. Emperor - Athems…, Conqueror – War Cult Supremacy.

Do you have any favorite traditions or historical references from Peru? What do you think about your country's rich, yet interesting history, from the Inca Empire to the conflict between Ecuador and Peru?

English:

Everything we know about the history of my country is interesting, but more interesting is everything that has happened in these years. From terrorism, political corruption. Do you know that we do not have any president who has not been imprisoned for almost 30 years? It's amazing that.

Cheers and thanks for your time! What's next for Putrid?

English:

Thanks to you brother and for the support you have always given us. What's new is two splits on 7” vinyl, one with Hexorcist and the other with Morbosidad. After that, we are making the songs for the band's third album that we hope to record at the end of this year. Finally, we already have some dates in Chile for 2023, so we still have a lot to do.

Album review: Caveman Cult - Blood and Extinction (2021)

Caveman Cult - Blood and Extinction

USA

Nuclear War Now!

Chaos reigns supreme on Caveman Cult's latest full-length, entitled "Blood and Extinction", released via Nuclear War Now!

On the band's latest album, we are presented with nine tracks of decidedly violent, bestial black/death informed by bands such as Bestial Warlust, Conqueror and Blasphemy, while also blending hardcore punk elements into their sound.

These cavemen manage to achieve a really abrasive sound, as they belch out a torrent of profoundly savage riffs, eminently harsh vocals, as well as chaotic and cavernous drumming that never lets up – all this combined will leave you with bleeding ears, including their penchant for fast and ripping solos, showing their adoration for this style.

The sound of Caveman Cult can easily be distinguished from other bands in this genre due to their rhythmic percussion and signature tempo changes. They also sound considerably more vitriolic than most bands who attempt this style, including the fact that the songs are rather direct, as they eschew anything remotely filler, which makes this a profoundly savage release reminiscent of a band like Conqueror. Moreover, they even employ Conqueror-esque riffs, which are done so well, and not to mention absolutely crushing and heavy as fuck. The production on this release is quite raw, but not in an unintelligible way. It’s actually perfect for this style and really brings out the best sound possible for the band.

As each track storms in and rages with unholy vengeance, the next track follows with a similar intensity. There's enough variety and depth to the music to warrant repeated listens. Anyone into vicious, bestial black/death, or war metal that's executed with absolute inexorable rage will fucking love this release. Recommended to fans of Abysmal Lord, Invultation, and Deiphago. Promo review: Abominablood - Agonizing Symphony of Deity (2021)

Abominablood - Agonizing Symphony of Deity

Argentina

Independent / Promo

Abominablood hails from the dark Patagonia of Argentina and has already released a series of demos, splits, and EPs, that amount to quite an impressive discography.

The band is led by L. Warpig Venomous Abominator, who is the morbid composer behind everything, even though there are session musicians who collaborate.

Musically, this is ritualistic blackened death packed with nuances composed of utterly insane, throaty vocals radiating pus that fill your ears with worms, accompanied by overwhelming blast beats, and riffs that rip everything to shreds. It conjures up a filthy atmosphere unleashing vile aberrations at the listener in a pure Lovecraftian frame. The sound of the guitars fascinated me, especially when I heard those spectral guitar solos. Warpig achieves a sound that goes well with the concept it tries to convey through its four songs (an intro, two songs, and outro). His vocal style changes from an acute guttural growl to a serious one from the putrid bowels of death with surgical precision. The melodies that accompany the slower parts of the compositions are profoundly morbid and induce the listener into a deep and terrifying trance. Fans of bands like Cruciamentum, Disma, and Krypts will enjoy this. (Catacombs Walker)

Interview: Goatpenis (2021)

Brazilian cult GOATPENIS needs no introduction. They are true legends of underground Black/Death with a trajectory dating back to 1989 when they began their activities as SUPPURATED FETUS. Not even the recent passing of former frontman Sabbaoath can deter them from waging war on the world. The following interview was done with guitarist Virrugus Apocalli.

Hails! Thanks for taking the time to do this interview. Could you please inform us of the current status of GOATPENIS? Are there any new releases or reissues planned for the near future?

Thanks for the opportunity. Goatpenis is keeping up the works. After Sabbaoth’s death, we took some time to process what happened, create a plan of attack and come back to the front with total power! We’re currently finishing a new material that should be released in 2022. It will be dedicated to the legacy and memory of Sabbaoth.

How did the passing of your former singer Sabbaoth (RIP) affect the band and will you continue making music under the GOATPENIS name? Who will take over the vocal duties?

No doubt Sabbaoth’s death was a shock, completely unexpected. However, if we left the front it would be the same as surrendering to the enemy because of a casualty of a soldier! As long as there are men to fight, the war must continue! Sabbaoth was the founder and will never be replaced but the attack can not stop. We’re currently counting on Necro Abhorrence’s vocals, the last member to join the Anti-Human Command.

How would you describe the evolution of your sound over the years? Has the core philosophy and influences remained the same?

I would describe it as natural. The more you do something, the better you become. The philosophy will always be the same: The repudiation of the human species.

What kind of elements did you focus on during the writing of "Decapitation Philosophy" and what can you tell us about the recording process?

The focus was always contempt and hate for human existence. D. P. is another album that envisions several ways to exterminate people. It can be through beliefs, religions… About the process of recording, it was like the other albums: fast and intense!

Can you tell us something about the inspiration behind the title "Decapitation Philosophy" and what it means? Who did the artwork?

I’m always focused on composing songs. Sabbaoth was the one who created the arts and the lyrics. After that, we would get together to discuss the name of the album. When we decided that the album would be called Decapitation Philosophy, we focused the creation process on something that would forward to the methods of execution of some cultures.

Can you share with us some highlights and anecdotes from your time with the band? And what would you say are some of the factors contributing to the band's longevity?

I became a member right after the Inhumanization album. When I got in, the band was quite unstructured, Sabbaoth was the only one fighting to not let the band break up. Since then we gathered forces and raised the band exactly where we wanted. Sabbaoth and I always had the perfect sync in the ideas and in the attitudes. We had different members through the years, but the two of us always held strong. I believe you must have commitment and willpower. Luckily today we’ve got a very solid and killer band: MGM.666 on the drums since the Anesthetic Vapor album and Necro Abhorrence on the guitars since the D.P. album and now taking on the vocals!

What is your opinion on the media and how it exploits people's weaknesses by filling their heads with nonsense, similar to how religions indoctrinate people? Is the vast majority of people utterly ignorant and beyond contempt?

Very simple: people are so stupid, weak, and lazy. Those who influence and the ones who are influenced. They deserve the worse and I hope they get buried in their own mediocre existence!

Do you have any hope for the human race and do you believe we are destined to become extinct because of our own self-destructive nature?

My hope is that actually happens!

What are some great Brazilian bands that everyone needs to check out in your opinion?

I'd rather not recommend because I don’t usually listen to anything.

How would you react if some basement-dwelling hipster accused GOATPENIS of being an NS band?

If it would be an accusation through the internet, I wouldn’t react based on my 7th answer. However, if one of these potheads finds a ball lost in their pants and comes talk shit to me in person… Decapitation Philosophy… Hahaha

Finally, what's next for you and GOATPENIS? Thanks again and good luck with everything!

Thanks for the interview, excellent questions! We must continue, honor Sabbaoth’s legacy. We will remain focused, work hard, create new materials, keep the mind and body strong, and hope for the worst!!!

Album review: Invultation – Unconquerable Death (2021)

Invultation – Unconquerable Death

USA

Born For Burning Productions (CD) / Sentient Ruin Laboratories (LP)

Hailing from Ohoi, USA, Invultation strike with their second full-length album entitled, "Unconquerable Death", which was released by Born For Burning Productions earlier this year. Andrew Lampe (Echushkya, Longbarrow, The Wakedead Gathering) is the sole musician behind this project.

Musically, the sound leans towards bestial and filthy Black/Death informed by bands such as Teitanblood, Proclamation, and Archgoat. Those who enjoy the aforementioned bands will certainly appreciate what Invultation has to offer, as the music exudes a profoundly blasphemous atmosphere.

Opening track, "Hanged Mass" begins with a short, but sinister ambiance before a roar of pure unbridled chaos plunges the listener into the abyss.

The songs on this release offers a variety of tempos, from mid to hammering fast parts, as well as a series of whore-sodomizing riffs that will have you bang your skull from beginning to end.

Tracks like "Insatiable Cruelty" and "Banners Under The Moon" feature blistering guitar solos that will make your brain explode. As a matter of fact, this whole album is full of sick riffs and frantic solos, which certainly adds a very chaotic aspect to the music, coupled with the mix of insanely deep and evil vocals.

One of the biggest strengths of this album is the compositional depth and consistency of the music. The music is easily distinguished from one track to the next, as there is enough variety to keep it from becoming monotonous.

All in all, "Unconquerable Death" is an apotheosis of filth and darkness, as Invultation offers an arsenal of bestial metal styles that epitomizes the genre. From its killer aesthetics to the artwork to its ominous music, everything about Invultation feels right. (HT)

EP review: Goat - Collapse (2021)

Goat – Collapse

Greece

Independent (Promo)

Goat from West Macedonia, Greece, attack with their latest EP called “Collapse”, featuring three short tracks of devastating Blackened Death Metal.

I'm surprised I haven't heard of these Hellenic tyrants before. The only other "Goat" I know is the one from Denmark, then of course Greek bands like Goatvomit and Wargoat (both excellent).

"Collapse" is obviously meant as a promo for labels to get the band signed, hence the short duration, although I don't think they will have any trouble linking a deal with some killer underground label considering how deadly and well-executed their music is.

A totally filthy production permeate this release, as an absence of melody gives the music a verily brutal dynamic. Their music is as crude and blasphemous as their name implies, with goat representing the devil in all its ferocity.

The track "Obliterate The Bastard Breed" will rip your ears off, as fast and merciless drums pound away atop visceral grunts and savage guitar riffs, while the title track "Collapse" offers more of the same with its rapid drums and pulverising riffs.

There is certainly a Greek influence in their riffs that is discernible and can also be heard in other Greek bands. That being said, there's definitely more to their sound than just brutal War Metal. A better artwork would be a great improvement, but as a promo, it is OK in my opinion. A little more variety and creativity in the songs would also be a good thing.

All in all, if you like bestial Black/Death Metal or "War Metal", then Goat from Greece is the band for you. For fans of Morbosidad, Abhorer, and Goatpenis. (HT)

Interview: Wargoat (2021)

Wargoat is one of the most killer and authentic hordes from Greece. Each work released by the band is another chapter of true and unholy black/death/war metal. This includes the fact that the band espouses an uncompromising attitude that is missing from a lot of bands nowadays. Hails to Kerasphoros for having the balls to speak his mind and not sugarcoat his answers like so many so-called "maniacs" out there. If you are false don't entry!

Hails Kerasphoros! How’s everything going and what’s been happening in the Wargoat camp since the split with Black Ceremonial Kult? Can we expect any new material in the near future?

Hails and thanks for your support!

Wargoat is a band that is in no hurry when we talk about new material generally. We prefer to act and record stuff when we have inspiration, we prefer to concentrate on quality over quantity. A new 4-way split is on the way sooner or later with 3 other Greek bestial black metal bands(Unholy Archangel, Schizoparanoic Platoon, Katachthon) in Lp format possibly

What is the ideology behind Wargoat and do you still harbour the same ideals since you started the band?

We never changed and we will never change our ideals since day number 1. The only thing that changed is that our ideals and ideology are more mature as we grow older. We are ready to face all situations and consequences through this, black metal was meant to stay extreme and obscure in all forms and not for the weak. Our ideology has to do with quality and thinking people that they don’t care to show themselves all the time on the internet (Black metal kiddies and crybabies). People that act and not saying only words. Being extreme and fair at the same time. For those that don't have fear to face or correspond in difficult situations. They are stable on what they believe generally!

What are some of your biggest musical influences since the band was formed and do you still listen to the same bands?

I grew up mainly listening to extreme forms of metal and not the classic heavy metal bands to be honest. I’m still listening to my influences of course, bands like Necromantia,(old)Rotting Christ, Blasphemy, Archgoat, Goatpenis, Sarcofago, Beherit, Grand Belial’s Key, Mortuary Drape,(old)Varathron,(old)Deicide e.t.c are a huge influence for me till now, integral part of my life for sure.

I think it's cool that you do not use the same songs when you do a split with a band. Is that because you want to give value to each release?

I see no meaning in recycling the same songs in further splits, it is better not releasing a split at all. Every release and every song has a special meaning for me. I never underestimated releases like splits, standard musical recipe even in full length, even in split releases, not more not less. We give value to each track without hurry on this as I told you before, step by step.

What’s your opinion on the current state of the underground and which bands do you follow/support?

In this ocean of the so-called underground bands, very few deserve attention, and they usually don’t have it. I’m disgusted to see bands with nails paint and bad satanic attitudes to have profiles like “hugs and kisses”.Keep your life for you and not for everyone, childish behaviour at least! The mystic aura of the 90’s has been vanished, few demos have this feeling anymore, but some of the bands that I adore that, are having this feeling and serious profile, are bands like Bloodtomb, Fornicatador, Bethor, Witchcraft, Legion of Doom, Satanic Goat Ritual, Iasma, Dead Congregation, Goatvomit, Unholy Archangel, Black Ceremonial Kult, Phosphore Blanc, Ritual Genocide, etc., to name a few.

What are the chances of "Genesis of Epiklesis" getting a reissue? And how was the album perceived at the time? I think it went somewhat under the radar.

Genesis of Epiklesis will be re-issued on tape together with a compilation tape soon. It went down the radar indeed, but we don’t care for being the mainstream band, for those who care can find our stuff easily. It’s a part of our choice to keep it obscure!

What albums/bands/releases have you been into lately?

Many good bands and demos around. Invultation, Antichrist Siege machine, Wrath Division, Caixao, Goat, Demonomantic, Black Legion, Uthriah, Illkuln, Tomb, Bestial Warfare some of the releases that come in my mind

Can you tell us a little bit more about your label Goatmarch Distro and what you have released so far?

Goatmarch distro is a part of my expression, on how underground should be. I release only tape format and some t-shirts, especially stuff that I like. It’s not a matter of profit just to spread my message all around and make some unknown demos more known.

What are some things in the world that fuel your hatred for humans?

By the passing of time, humans have been proved catastrophic even with nature, even with each other, one tries to survive on each other in order to make his own dream, Egoism, hypocrisy and many other elements lead us to a worst future. Year by year we destroy nature, we burn forests, we face viruses, economical situations, pollution and many more that are a creation of human beings. Morality and values have been lost, and even for those who can understand these terms, they fight on their own, trying not to be altered in some way, from the outside world. Too many to write them here.

How do you see the future of your country and Europe? It looks like it's going downhill rapidly with the rise of crime and the decline of the economy. (Especially with this whole covid bullshit)

As a part of the European membership, Hellas and Europe fell into lethargy many years before, with illegal immigrants, financial corruption, etc. It was a join just for specific interest and not for historical purposes. As you can see there is no union, in order to support each other, in this European system, but every country tries to support its own interests. Covid and crimes came to do it worst now.Hope never dies, and not unless Europe wakes to its old values and morality searching for our roots, on this part of map.

I hope not to be so late till then.

Propaganda make it worse and this is a strong tool of the “jewish” governments

Has the band faced any problems with censorship yet? I can totally see how your band could be "cancelled" due to the fact that you have a song called "Fuck The Muslim God" from the first demo in 2007.

We have faced many problems indeed, due to our anti-muslim profile. Band won’t change ideas, we are devoted till the end. We had problems even with factory press on this matter, even with antifa press

Black metal is against organized religions and there is no fear to face every consequence. It seems that the truth is for few, many weak sheeps around, even in our circles. It’s easy to say fuck Christ, but not Fuck Allah? Fuck them both anyway

Thanks for your time! Any last words to properly close this interview?

What once was…

Great shall be again…
